THAILAND

Thailand is a mesmerizing destination that seamlessly blends rich cultural heritage with stunning natural landscapes, making it an ideal getaway for diverse travel experiences. Nestled in Southeast Asia, Thailand boasts vibrant cities, ancient temples, and pristine beaches that cater to a wide range of interests. Bangkok, the bustling capital, offers a kaleidoscope of experiences with its vibrant street life, opulent temples like Wat Arun and Wat Pho, and a lot of delicious restaurants and eateries with authentic Thai flavors.

Steeped in Theravada Buddhism, the predominant religion, Thailand's temples stand as spiritual sanctuaries and architectural marvels. From the ornate Grand Palace to the serene Wat Phra Singh in Chiang Mai to the north, these sacred sites offer a glimpse into the country's spiritual essence. Beyond the urban hustle, Thailand unveils a paradise of tropical beauty. Phuket, Koh Samui, and Phi Phi Islands showcase postcard-perfect beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs, enticing sun-seekers and water enthusiasts alike.

Food an integral part of the Thai experience, with many flavors ranging from the fiery heat of tom yum soup to the savory goodness of pad Thai. Exploring local markets, street stalls, and upscale restaurants provides an immersive journey into the diverse and delectable world of Thai cuisine. Whether indulging in the lively street markets, participating in cultural festivals, or exploring ancient ruins, Thailand promises a kaleidoscopic journey that combines tradition, modernity, and natural wonders, all while embracing the country's rich religious and culinary heritage for an unforgettable vacation experience.

Phimai Historical Park

Tucked away in Thailand's northeastern region, Phimai Historical Park showcases the majestic Phimai Sanctuary, a Khmer temple complex dating back to the 11th century. Resembling the more famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia, Phimai boasts intricate stone carvings and a captivating layout, providing a tranquil and historically significant alternative to the bustling crowds at other temple complexes.

Khao Sok National Park

Situated in Southern Thailand, Khao Sok National Park offers a blend of ancient rainforests, limestone karsts, and pristine lakes. Home to one of the world's oldest rainforests, it provides a serene retreat for nature enthusiasts. With hidden caves, diverse flora and fauna, and unique floating bungalows, Khao Sok National Park provides an off-the-beaten-path experience.

Best time to travel

Thailand is a year round destination, depending on where you travel.

November to early March is the dry season, but northern Thailand can get chilly.

July through October is rainy season, but the short rainfalls help make temps cooler.

The coasts have different rainy seasons too: November to early March is great for the west coast whereas December to April is best for the east coast.

Recommended duration

10-14 days to see the whole country

Pairs well with

Vietnam, Cambodia, South Korea (many flights from the US have layovers in Seoul)

Cost factors

Once you are in Thailand, the cost of living is lower than the US. Flights can be expensive.
