January - new deductible, new charges!

Last month was the month of clearing out water damage from our basement, and this month started off with a bang - literally! My 8 year old, EV, tripped and fell and broke her wrist on the 1st. She's in a cast now for about 4 weeks, but unfortunately has to wait another 4 weeks to enjoy her gymnastics class again safely.

Cold weather means more indoor fun

Mid-January meant subzero temps for us here in the Twin Cities. While my kids still enjoyed outdoor time (in shorter bursts than usual, with more layers and gear than usual too), it definitely put a cramp in our style. I had hoped to try to teach EV to snowboard at one of our ski hills, but the mild winter up to December and then cold snap and EV's broken wrist are making it seem less likely to happen anytime soon.
