United Kingdom & Ireland - 2024

While I enjoy planning every trip for my clients, there are some trips where I get a few more warm fuzzies at the end of it. This is one of those trips. These ladies were in their senior year of college when they reached out to me, hoping that I could help them plan their trip to the United Kingdom & Ireland. They were going in late May/early June, and wanted to spend close to 3 weeks abroad. They had modest budgets and hopes of exploring as they felt led. Their parents, however, were not as keen on that idea, and enlisted my help.

As June starts peak tourist season in these destinations, I advised them to pre-book accommodations to ensure they had lodging in safe locations that were near to public transit. I also advised if there were anything they absolutely had to see or do, to book that ahead of time as well. I’m all for free time to explore, but I never want a client to miss on something they really hoped to see, so it is a balancing act.

Look at that landscape - the Isle of Skye is beautiful.

While in Scotland, they really hoped to see the Isle of Skye, but it is hard to get up there, and can add some expense to the trip. So instead of them hoofing it on their own, I suggested they join a 3 day tour from Edinburgh. While it meant they didn’t have complete freedom of choice on what to do while there, it did allow them to see the glorious landscapes of the highlands.

In the end, they truly enjoyed their trip, and were grateful for having some things pre-planned, while still being able to wander a bit on their own.
