June 7, 2023 - What am I Working On? London, Edinburgh, & Paris

Check out this amazing trip I'm in the midst of planning for a client!

London, Edinburgh, & Paris - 14 days

These clients decided to do a honey-fund for their wedding, having guests contribute to their honeymoon budget. They wanted to spend the majority of their time in London, as the groom had studied abroad there in college and he wanted to share some of his memories with his new bride. They also wanted to explore Edinburgh's art festival, and of course, check out the Eiffel Tower while in Paris.

Itinerary

Day 1 - London Eye

On their arrival day in London, they wanted to keep it lower key to get over jetlag, so today their one activity (other than an early bedtime) is the London Eye.

Day 2 - Double Decker Bus - Dinner Cruise

One of the bride's most wished for things about this trip was taking a ride on a double decker bus. They'll get an audio tour of London and the key sites from it before ending their day with a dinner cruise on the Thames.

Day 3 - London

They weren't looking for every minute to be filled, so I gave them a few open days to explore and for the groom to reminisce about what he remembered from his college days.

Day 4 - Stratford-upon-Avon & Cotswolds

Shakespeare has a big pull on many people traveling to England, and a day trip to his birthplace is on the docket today. They'll also get to enjoy a stop at one of the loveliest areas of England, the Cotswolds.

Day 5 - Borough Market & Pub Tour

Another must-do for them was a food tour through the famous Borough Market. They'll start their day off with a brunch tour and will end the day on a historical pub tour through London.

Day 6 - London to Edinburgh

Today they will make their way from London up to their castle accommodations near Edinburgh. Located in a suburb of the city, Dalhousie Castle is a convenient way to stay in something grand while still being able to enjoy the city!

Day 7 - Edinburgh

Another open day with nothing in particular planned, this will be a day they'll likely enjoy the art festival in Edinburgh. They also may choose to get tickets to the Military Tattoo, an event that happens only during a short period each year.

Day 8 - Dunkeld & Whiskey Tour

Something else they really wanted to do was a whiskey distillery tour, so I found one that allowed them to see more outside of Edinburgh, specifically the smaller town of Dunkeld.

Day 9 - Edinburgh

Today they'll enjoy the Hop On Hop Off bus tour of Edinburgh and will probably spend some more time at the art festival.

Day 10 - Edinburgh to London

Today they'll take the train back to London and spend a couple more days there before heading to Paris.

Day 11 - Tower of London & High Tea

You can't visit London without checking out the Crown Jewels and learning more about the dark history of the Tower of London, just like you can't truly experience England without having tea. They'll do both today!

Day 12 - Chunnel to Paris

Another item they really wanted to experience was taking the Chunnel from London to Paris. Today's the day for a good train ride under the English Channel.

Day 13 - Paris

Another day open for them to explore on their own, Paris is a great place to utilize the public transit system. It's very clear to navigate and has many options to get you from point A to point B, C, or even Z!

Day 14 - Gourmet Food Tour & Eiffel Tower

Saving the best (or at least most iconic) of Paris for their last full day, they'll be enjoying a gourmet food tour before heading up the Eiffel Tower.
