High Tea in the gardens at Kensington Palace

Ahhh the sweet romance of honeymooners. I love planning European honeymoons for many reasons, one of which is that I myself once enjoyed a honeymoon in Europe (Italy to be exact). My honeymoon was over a decade ago, and I’ve been told (by my husband) that we’ve been married “for like 50 years now” so I project any thoughts of romance to my clients. I kid, I kid… but I do enjoy planning honeymoons!

Anyhooo, this couple wanted a trifecta of experiences: Enjoying London (where hubby had studied abroad in college), Edinburgh, and Paris. They relived some of the moments hubby spent in London during his studies, but also wanted things planned so they wouldn’t miss any of the things they wanted to do. They enjoyed beer and distilleries, as well as food tours, so we made sure they got to do some of those in each destination.

Their time in Edinburgh overlapped both the Fringe Art Festival and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo performances, so they were able to enjoy both of those unique experiences. They also splurged on staying in a castle for one night! While in London they were lucky enough to be able to catch a performance of Macbeth at the Globe Theater, a realistic true-to-history reconstruction of the Globe Theatre built in 1599 which Shakespeare wrote his plays for. Paris meant romance, and they enjoyed checking out the palace of Versailles, a culture tour through the Marais neighborhood, and of course the Eiffel Tower.
