Are you a fan of the Sound of Music? Can’t you just picture Maria singing, “I am confident” down this lane? If you can, it’s because this is where she sang it in Austria!

At the beginning of planning…

Read the Guide - If you’re thinking about using me as your travel agent, I’ve created this handy guide to answer your questions before you even have them!

Get or Renew Your Passport - Passports can take weeks to get to you, so be sure to start working on this right away to ensure you are able to leave the country on your trip!

Check Travel Advisories - This page allows you to see if there are any safety concerns in the destination, and what the US recommends as far as travel goes.

Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check - Global Entry expedites your trips through immigration and customs by entering you into the Trusted Traveler program. TSA Pre-Check (expedited service through TSA lines) is included.

The famous Moulin Rouge in Paris, France. Be ready to see a lot of things (if you know what I mean) when walking along in the Red District.

Before you go…

CDC Travel Recommendations - This site lists out health advisories for your destination, including any medications or vaccines that are recommended.

Enroll in STEP Traveler Program - This program registers travelers with the US Embassy or Consulate so that they can receive important safety conditions in the destination, as well as helps the Embassy or Consulate contact them in an emergency (such as civil unrest, etc.).

Download the Mobile Passport App - For those who do not have Global Entry privileges, download the mobile passport app on your phone and upload your passport info before landing to expedite your re-entry into the US.

Download Google Translate App - If you aren’t fluent in the language of the destination, you can download it to your phone and be able to communicate even without internet connection.

Be Prepared - Check out my recommended products to ensure you are fully prepared for your trip.

A fortified city from the 12th century: Ait Ben Haddou. This was so interesting to see a city from so long ago that was still inhabited (by a few people anyways).

Weather Forecast - Check the local weather to know what to pack.

Check TSA Guidelines - Although they rarely change much, TSA guidelines can be updated. Make sure to double check the most recent guidelines before your trip.

Purchase a local Sim Card - Rather than utilizing the expensive international plan with your cell provider, you can opt to purchase a local Sim Card for use in destination. These are often less expensive than using your cell provider’s plan. (Note: This is an affiliate link, I get a small amount of compensation if you purchase through the link).

Currency Converter - Figure out an estimate of how much your US Dollar will get you in your destination.

While not a link, a big suggestion: before travel, ensure you have a healthcare surrogacy form filled out (aka a medical power of attorney or health directive form) for the unlikely chance that you are incapacitated and your traveling companion needs to make a medical decision on your behalf.

Documents for your minor child(ren)

Consent to Treat Form - If you are leaving your minor children in the care of another person who is not their parent, this form gives them permission to treat your child(ren) in the event of an emergency.

Waiver for Minor Travel - If a minor is traveling internationally with one or neither parent, this form can be filled out and notarized to assist in getting through immigration/customs.

If you are planning to leave minor child(ren) home or are traveling without both parents, please let me know in our phone consultation.
