August 7, 2024 - What am I Working On? Australia

Australia - 17 Days

This couple had a long bucket list of places they wanted to check out in Australia, but knew all of it wouldn't be possible. They wanted to maximize their time there, and called in a professional (hey, that's me!) to help figure out what was feasible and what would have to wait for another trip. They're going to have such a great time there!

Itinerary

Day 1 - Blue Mountains, New South Wales

One of their items on their list was hiking a bit in the Blue Mountains about an hour or so out of Sydney, so they start their journey here.

Day 2 - Blue Mountains, Sydney

They'll get a bit more time this morning and early afternoon to explore and see the natural beauty of this area before heading to Sydney to be closer to the airport for their flight tomorrow.

Day 3 - Hobart, Tasmania

One of the top items on their bucket list was that they wanted to visit and explore a lot of Tasmania. They love natural beauty and hiking, so they'll be renting a car and moving about the island state.

Day 4 - Strahan, Tasmania

Strahan has some amazing waterfalls and waterways near to it, and they'll get a chance to explore these while they are in this area of Tasmania.

Day 5 - Cradle Mountain, Tasmania

This morning they will be taking a cruise and will see iconic places like Hell's Gates, Liberty Point, and Sarah Island. Later, they'll get to experience wildlife encounters with quolls and Tasmanian devils! They'll see some behind the scenes areas of the wildlife sanctuary too.

Day 6 - Launceston, Tasmania

Their last stop in Tasmania is Launceston, where they may choose to explore Cataract Gorge a bit, or check out the Queen Victoria Museum and see exhibits on Tasmanian history.

Day 7 - Kangaroo Island, South Australia

Today they'll be traveling from Tasmania to Kangaroo Island by way of Adelaide. They'll be renting a car again, and driving to the vehicle ferry to get over to the unique island.

Day 8 - Kangaroo Island

Today they'll have the whole day to explore the island, as it can over 60 minutes to go from east to west, and there are many beautiful natural landscapes and sites to stop and see along the way.

Day 9 - Adelaide, South Australia

Their time on Kangaroo Island draws to a close today, and they take the ferry back to Adelaide. They'll stay one night before embarking on an epic journey to Australia's Red Center.

Day 10 - Adelaide to Alice Springs, Northern Territory

What better way to get through a majority of the Outback than by train? They'll be taking the famous Ghan train to Alice Springs. It includes an overnight, as well as a stop in Marla to get out and enjoy the stars in the Outback.

Day 11 - Alice Springs

When they arrive in Alice Springs, they'll stay one night before embarking on their journey to Uluru (Ayers Rock).
