May 3, 2023 - What am I Working On? Brazil
Check out this amazing trip I'm in the midst of planning for a client!
Brazil - 10 days/9 nights
This family of five came to me with a great 3-year plan - they wanted to explore somewhere in South America this year, and then someplace in Africa and Asia in the following two years. For South America, they were really feeling Brazil was just the ticket - specifically wanting to experience Rio de Janeiro and Iguazu Falls. Here's what I suggested for them:
Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Rio!
After collecting their bags, they'll be met by a private driver to take them to a 3-bedroom apartment, allowing them more space and the ability to explore a local market or grocery store themselves and saving some money on eating out!
Day 2 - Christ statue
You can hardly go to Rio without making the trek up to the Christ statue, now can you? Today they'll be picked up from their apartment, taken on a nice scenic ride before boarding a small train that will take them up to the mountain top to see Christ the Redeemer up close!
Day 3 - Sugarloaf Mountain
Another must-see while in Rio, Sugarloaf Mountain is famous and a fun activity for a family. Here they'll take a couple cable cars (yeah, not for those height-averse people!) to the top where they'll get a beautiful 360-view of the bay and the city!
Day 4 - Botanic Garden + Tijuca Forest
Today they'll get to explore Rio's gorgeous botanical garden, full of exotic flora and fauna, including some endangered species and TONS of orchids. Once they've gotten their fill of that they will be heading to Tijuaca Forest - an urban forest - and will likely see many animals like sloth, monkeys, and exotic birds.
Day 5 - Rio to Iguazu Falls
Today they'll transfer to Iguazu Falls via a short plane ride. They'll have private drivers on both ends, and will check into a local hotel in Foz do Iguaçu where they'll have the evening to enjoy on their own.
Day 6 - Iguazu Falls
They'll hop on over to the Argentinian side of the falls today, visiting a suspended platform at the very brink of Devil's Throat - the largest of the waterfalls that make up the falls. Later, they'll get to enjoy the falls from the bottom in a boat, marveling at the beauty of nature. They'll also get to enjoy the Bird Park, seeing many of the exotic birds that were in the movie Rio, one of the kids' favorites!
Day 7 - Iguazu Falls to Buzios
Today they'll have most of the morning to explore the area on their own, before getting their private transfer to the airport to return to Rio, grabbing their private transfer to the beachtown of Buzios.
Day 8 - Buzios
Buzios is a resort town, so they're going to be staying at a nice beach resort for their stay. In Buzios they'll have the opportunity to parasail, snorkel, and enjoy the beautiful blue waters.
Day 9 - Buzios
If they'd like, they'll be able to walk through the town, enjoying the many types of shops that come with resort towns, and browsing the unique souvenirs to bring home to friends and family.
Day 10 - Return Home
All good things must end, and this vacation is no exception. Today they'll transfer to the Rio airport for their flights home.
