Thanksgiving Season

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the States, and a perfect time to stop and reflect on what I'm thankful for both personally as well as professionally.

Thinking about what it has meant to be able to transition to being a travel agent full time makes me feel so thankful that:

• I've been able to volunteer more at my daughter's school events, getting ample face time in with her and her friends while allowing her to have that pride of my mom is here to chaperone the field trip;

• I've been able to stop working midday when my son asks, "Mom, will you play with me?" and not feel like I'll have to make up that time later in the evening;

• I've had opportunity to do errands when most people are at work and avoid the hustle and bustle of crowds;

• I've taken opportunities to do cleaning and housework in smaller bits, without feeling like I have to devote a whole day to bringing the house back to order; and

• I've been able to pursue travel opportunities to grow and expand my firsthand knowledge of the world and thus provide even more exceptional expertise to my clients.

I couldn't have done any of this without the amazing client base I have, so really these all boil down to:

I'm so thankful to YOU!

Turkey Day Festivities

We will be going to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving this year, spending some precious hours with some of my extended family. My kids always love hanging out with their "cousins" (technically they are second cousins, as they're my cousins' kids, but we just call them all cousins), and I love eating the yummy food everyone brings (we do it potluck style). I hope that whatever you do tomorrow, whether you celebrate Thanksgiving or not, is something fun and life-giving to you!
