Raleigh, North Carolina - 2018

As the capitol of North Caroline, Raleigh has much more to offer than just the Research Triangle. With beautiful parks, iconic architecture, historic sites, and abundance of high quality, free museums, it's a wonderful city to visit. Known as the "Smithsonian of the South," the numerous museums are sure to attract those who enjoy history, art, science, and more. For those into more of the architectural and historical cityscapes, Raleigh is a great example of an early planned city using a grid pattern (making most streets easy to navigate as well!). And Raleigh is a quick 3-4 hour car ride from Asheville, NC, where the famous Biltmore mansion is located, and an easy 3.5 hour ride to Kitty Hawk, where the Wright brothers completed that famous first flight.

In picturesque Pullen Park, you can find Andy and Opie on their way to the fishin' hole. A TV Land tribute to the Andy Griffith show, which was set in North Carolina.
